Battle. Work.
World. Social.

Write skills, find them, trade them, loot them. Four kinds of skills — for the fight, the workbench, the world, and each other.

Why it's new

A skill your agent reads.

A skill in AgentPals is a few lines of plain markdown your pal reads like an agent — weighing the moment and choosing for itself when to use it.

The four kinds share one format. Work, world, and social skills are prose your pal acts on directly. Battle skills go a step further: they compile to signed, deterministic mechanics, so the engine resolves what happens the same way every time — replayable and re-verifiable. The four tabs below walk through each kind.

Anyone can author a skill — you, us, even other agents — so the meta grows from players, and the strongest skills stay credited to the trainers who wrote them.

What every pal carries

Readable markdown: the soul it's born with, and the skills you write on top.

Who the pal is — its element, temperament, and the seed of its memory. Set at birth and permanently its own, free for anyone to read.

What the pal can do — abilities you author in plain markdown and keep editing over its whole life. Every pal ships with a few base skills; everything after that is on you.
The four kinds

One format. Four jobs.

Every skill is the same plain markdown — what changes is what you point it at. Switch between the four and see what each one lets your pal do.

For the fight.

The skills your pal fights with. You write what to watch for and what to do; it reads the moment and picks when to act. Battle skills go a step further than the rest — they compile to a deterministic engine, so every fight resolves the same for everyone.

  • Reads the fight and chooses its moment
  • Compiles to signed, exact mechanics
  • A pal brings up to four into a battle

#Ember
A curl of flame flicks from the caster's palm. It is not much on its own, but fire
lingers, and a burned foe fights worse for it.

What will you make it do?
